Finnish fantasy horror film Child of the Night follows Saga (Seidi Haarla) and her husband Jon (Rupert Grint) who move to an isolated house in the woods to raise their newborn son Kuura. Their dream of the perfect family quickly turns into a nightmare as the boy cries incessantly, is unusually hairy, and displays a terrifying blood lust. While her husband assures her that it is postpartum exhaustion, Saga is left alone with the eerie suspicion that her child is not actually a human being, but a sinister creature from Nordic folklore. The film was a great success on the festival scene, and it had its world premiere in the main competition program at this year's 76th edition of the prestigious Berlin Film Festival, where he was nominated for the Golden Bear Award - for best film, after which he visited festivals in Sarajevo, Karlovy Vary and Brüssel.
