Tanhofer 100: Nije bilo uzalud

Tanhofer's directorial debut, a combination of social drama and crime thriller about a young doctor who comes to a backward rural environment to fight illness, prejudice and social stupor. The film was screened at the Berlin Film Festival in 1957 and in the context of Croatian cinema at the time, genre-driven and narratively sovereign, It Was Not in Vain is one of the most interesting debuts in Croatian film history.
