This satirical, surreal and psychologically dark horror film follows Kris Williams, an ambitious director who is given the task of reviving the long-forgotten slasher franchise Camp Miasma. During the preparations, she becomes obsessed with bringing the reclusive actress who played the original final girl into the project. However, their collaboration soon develops into a murky, psychosexual romance in which the boundaries between reality and cinematic fiction begin to blur. The impressive cast is led by Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson, while the film is written and directed by talented indie filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun. The film stands out as a visually striking and layered meta-deconstruction of the horror genre, using slasher elements to boldly explore queer identity and personal self-discovery. Following its acclaimed world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, where it opened the Un Certain Regard programme, the film went on to win the prestigious Queer Palm.
