Oče naš

The social-psychological drama and thriller Oče naš is based on real and deeply disturbing events. The story follows Dejan, a young man struggling with addiction, whose mother takes him to an isolated monastery community for rehabilitation. However, what is presented as a treatment process soon turns into a draconian system of fear, authoritarian power and brutal violence under the leadership of a charismatic priest. The film offers a chilling and meticulously precise insight into the anatomy of closed systems, vividly portraying how faith and care for vulnerable people can turn into tools of manipulation. Following its highly successful world premiere at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival, the film won the Golden Arena for Best Actor (Vučić Perović) at the Pula Film Festival in the category of Croatian minority co-productions. The Rijeka premiere will take place on Tuesday, October 6, with director Goran Stanković in attendance. Tickets can be purchased at the Art-kino box office, which opens one hour before the first screening of the day, or via the CoreEvent platform. https://www.art-kino.org/hr/film/oce-nas
