The psychological drama A Crack in the Ice follows the life of Marija, a young figure skater from the outskirts of Belgrade who is struggling with grief after her mother’s death. When her father’s new girlfriend moves into their home, Marija finds herself drawn into a dark world as she tries to contribute financially amid severe financial difficulties. The film was written and directed by the talented filmmaker Maja Miloš, whose controversial film Clip (2012) has previously been screened at the cinema. The film stands out in contemporary cinema for its exceptionally bold, raw, and uncompromising exploration of female integrity, the body, and social trauma. Screened at numerous European and regional film festivals, the film has had a notable festival run and international screenings. 🎟️ Tickets can be purchased at the Art-kino box office (open every day one hour before the first screening) or via the CoreEvent platform.
