Tiger cub Teo was raised by kangaroos after being found alone in the wild, while his past remains hidden behind a mysterious crystal he wears around his neck and secrets that have yet to be uncovered. When a mysterious vision calls him “home,” he embarks on a great adventure to discover his true origins. Along the way, he is joined by the clumsy amateur explorer Platon and his worried family. Their search leads them to the legendary Tiger Island, a place filled with wondrous crystals — but also danger, as a greedy explorer seeks to harness the island’s power for her own purposes. Teo must discover who he truly is and what he is fighting for before the island falls into the wrong hands. This touching story about a little tiger searching for his true identity explores themes of heritage and belonging. The film was created using a distinctive animation technique known as “stepped keys,” in which every other frame is animated, giving the film a stop-motion-like feel and a unique visual signature.
