Premijera: DREAM ON/DREAM OFF, r. Dalibor Barić

After making history as the first Croatian film created with the help of generative artificial intelligence to be included on the Oscar shortlist, the experimental science-fiction animated film Dream on/Dream off by talented Zagreb-based artist and director Dalibor Barić is premiering at Art-kino on Thursday, September 10, starting at 8 PM. The premiere will be attended by the director, as well as producer Ivan Katić (KAOS Produkcija). Dream On/Dream Off takes viewers on a visual journey through the labyrinths of the human subconscious and digital reality. The story follows the protagonist, Pola, as she tries to decipher her own memories within a simulated world where the boundaries between reality and technological dreams are erased. Through constant visual transformations, she explores the nature of identity in an age when machines are beginning to dream human dreams. Dalibor Barić is the director and author of the screenplay, concept, and editing, while generative artificial intelligence was used as one of the main tools for creating the visual material. Barić is also one of the most interesting authors on the Croatian film scene, whose wide-ranging work encompasses music and multimedia. As a director, he is recognized as an author of experimental films that use found objects, footage, and collage techniques to create unique animated worlds.
