The “Pula in Guest Appearance” programme within Rijeka’s Summer Art-Kino brings a touch of Croatia’s oldest national film festival under the Rijeka night sky, along with an exclusive visit from the film crew. This year’s programme highlights a notable title that offers an authentic story and a strong authorial vision. At its centre is Yugo Florida, the debut feature-length emotional drama by director Vladimir Tagić, which follows a chronically exhausted man who takes on the care of his estranged father during the final weeks of his life. This touching and humane story, infused with bitter humour, uses the father’s old car as a powerful metaphor for unpredictable breakdowns and the transience of life itself.
