Shampoo United States of America, 1975, 110 min On the eve of the election that will secure Richard Nixon’s move into the White House, George (Warren Beatty), a successful and sexually insatiable Beverly Hills hairdresser, tries to convince one of his lovers, Felicia (Lee Grant), to persuade her wealthy husband to financially support him in opening his own salon, as no bank is willing to back him. During the meeting, George realizes that Lester (Jack Warden) is having an affair with Jackie (Julie Christie), his former girlfriend and so-called great love. At Lester’s request, George agrees to escort Jackie to an election gathering for the Republican Party, where he unexpectedly encounters his fiancée Jill (Goldie Hawn), an aspiring actress appearing with director Johnny (Tony Bill), whom Jackie also knows.
