The Dubrovnik Folklore Ensemble Linđo is ending its mini tour Homo u kolo on Rab, with dances, songs and costumes from various Croatian regions. Along with linđo, the dance after which it is named, the ensemble presents regional dance styles, music and customs, striving to preserve their original expression. The collection and stage design of this heritage are the foundation of its work, and klapa polyphonic singing has a special place in its repertoire. About the Ensemble • Linđo was founded in Dubrovnik in 1965 and operates as a cultural institution under the patronage of the City of Dubrovnik. It was named after one of the most famous and beloved folk dances of the Dubrovnik Littoral, Župa dubrovačka and Konavle. • Since 1967, the ensemble has regularly performed at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, and has represented Dubrovnik and Croatian traditional culture on numerous guest appearances in Croatia and abroad. It has received a number of awards and recognitions for its work. • Klapa singing, to which the ensemble pays special attention, is widespread in southern Croatia, along the coast and on the islands. In December 2012, it was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Tickets • Tickets are on sale in advance at the Rab Open University, Bobotine 1/A, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Organizer • Rab Open University
