RISO i prijateljice: 420.000 otisaka kasnije

From fanzines and artist books to brochures, theoretical texts and audio recordings, the exhibition traces the first seven years of the DIY risography printing house and workshop that designer Ana Labudović launched in Rijeka in 2019. Behind these publications is a network of authors, artists, organizations and independent initiatives connected by self-publishing of artistic, activist and theoretical content. After Zagreb and Split, the exhibition arrives in the city where RISO and friends operate. About the exhibition • The installation leads through the creation of a printed publication, from the initial idea and experimentation to production and finished copies. Along with the possibilities of risography, it shows its limitations and imperfections in order to bring visitors closer to the printing process itself. • Risography is a digital duplication technique developed in Japan in the 1980s, which combines the features of screen printing and photocopying. The accessibility and possibility of independent production have connected it with artistic and social activism from the beginning. Accessibility • The spaces of the Croatian Cultural Center in Sušak and the Kortil Gallery have no barriers to movement.
