Ilario Carposio: Slike stare Rijeke

When he arrived in Rijeka in 1878, Ilario Carposio took over Giuseppe Luzzatto's photography studio and developed it into Studio Carposio, one of the city's most prestigious studios. His photographs of the urban transformation of Rijeka open the series Pictures of Old Rijeka, in which the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka presents photographers from its holdings and their records of the city. Around 200 of Carposio's photographs in the museum's Photo Collection constitute one of the most valuable units of Rijeka's and Croatia's photographic heritage.
