What happens when conflicting truths meet at the same table? Entitled “Cartography of Conflict”, the 2026 Festival of Empathy explores the different forms of conflict that shape contemporary life. We are interested in how conflicts arise, who has the power to define them, how they are transmitted between generations, and how they affect our individual and collective identities. What happens when, instead of taking sides quickly, we try to understand the terrain on which the conflict arises? 🎬 ARMAND 📅 Friday, October 23rd at 7 pm HKD 📍 Atrium In this tense Norwegian psychological drama, the parents of two six-year-olds are invited to an emergency meeting at school after an incident between boys. As they try to shed light on the circumstances of the event, the conversation turns into a complex confrontation with accusations, prejudices and unspoken truths. The boundaries between facts and assumptions are becoming increasingly blurred, and fears and tensions among adults are emerging. Director Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel's film, awarded the Caméra d'Or Award at Cannes in 2024 for Best Debut Film, questions how reliable our judgments are and how willing we are to listen to the other side. 🎟️ Admission is free!
