✦ TELL ME WHAT YOU DO, AND I’LL TELL YOU IF YOU’RE YOUNG – BIENNALE OF YOUNG ARTISTS (1960–1991) ✦ We are announcing this year’s final exhibition and the central autumn programme at MMSU. Thirty-five years after the last Rijeka Biennale of Young Artists, we are returning to an event that brought together around 1,500 artists over the course of three decades. The first comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the Biennale of Young Artists presents around sixty award-winning works from the MMSU collection. The exhibition features selected works from the MMSU Collections in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture and drawing, as well as photography, video and installation. It also includes a selection of posters from the Poster Collection, complemented by documentation, photographs and archival materials, TV features and educational texts. The exhibition title, taken from a newspaper article by Darko Glavan, recalls debates among art critics about what defines youth in artistic creation and whether these criteria should be insisted upon. At the same time, it serves as an invitation to reopen the subject of youth and explore it through artistic and curatorial practices.
