“Cinderella” is a lively comic opera in two acts. Composer Gioachino Rossini and librettist Jacopo Ferretti have completely removed the magic from the story — there is no fairy godmother or pumpkin — replacing it with human virtues, intrigue and witty disguises. It is a timeless story about a humble young woman, her enduring longing for happiness, her selfish stepfather and her vain stepsisters. Instead of a glass slipper, the key symbol of recognition here is a bracelet, and the story culminates in a touching moment when the heroine shows her noble spirit and forgives her family. But before the happy ending, a prince on a white horse enters the scene! The production brought to the stage of the Rijeka Theatre is a legendary, dynamic and exceptionally witty production by the renowned Jean-Pierre Ponnelle, who created the entire concept and also designed the costumes and sets. Originally staged in 1980 at the Bavarian State Opera, this production has been part of the lasting heritage of opera history for more than 40 years. On this occasion, the Rijeka Opera ensemble will add its own name to this important cultural legacy. https://hnk-zajc.mojekarte.hr/hr/ulaznice.html
