A science-fiction performance about an alien invasion through dance, serving as a metaphor for historical and contemporary forms of colonialism and cultural assimilation. What begins as harmless science-fiction entertainment ends with a disturbing reflection on when unwanted help becomes oppression, and how only we ourselves can protect us from ourselves – and only through conscious and voluntary action. The project “Human ~” was born from a desire to spend time together – through play, creativity, and the joy of doing what we love. Each of the creators has her own artistic project, while “Human ~” is their shared adventure. Zuzana Psotková is a performer, cultural activist, and curator, as well as co-founder and long-time dramaturge and director of Tabačka Kulturfabrik. Jana Ryšlavá is the founder of Move Ostrava and the Move Fest festival. Now in its eighth year, the festival regularly brings together leading Czech and international artists working in dance, mime, and contemporary circus, while also offering workshops, discussions, and artistic residencies.
