This romantic comedy by Bitef Theatre from Belgrade takes you to a dinner where absolutely nothing goes according to plan — and that’s exactly what you’ll love about it. At a private celebration in an elegant restaurant, six people gather at the invitation of mutual friends — a married couple of lawyers. None of the guests knows the reason for the gathering or who the other invitees are. As the mysterious evening unfolds, it becomes clear that they are actually former spouses, and that the lawyer couple who handled all their divorces has brought them together in an attempt to repair their damaged relationships. Private Celebration is a romantic comedy about middle-aged people who are financially secure and seemingly have everything — yet are still unhappy. They struggle with the same emotional and fundamental problems as ordinary people. They deal with jealousy, are hurt by infidelity and vanity, and are afraid to show their emotions honestly for fear of being hurt, abandoned, pitied, or excluded from society. This is a story about the absurd chaos we are capable of creating within our own relationships.
