The Japan in Rijeka festival will come to a close in the most spectacular way possible — with an extraordinary piano concert by the incredible young Japanese pianist Hibiki Kojima. Hibiki Kojima represents a new generation of Japanese musicians who effortlessly break down the barriers between classical discipline and modern pop culture. His exceptional talent and technical excellence are being refined at one of the world’s most prestigious institutions — Hibiki is currently studying at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK – Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien). This renowned Viennese academy is known for its highly selective admissions process, as well as its progressive spirit that encourages musicians to innovate and blend genres. It is precisely this Viennese academic background, combined with Japanese precision, that allows Hibiki to transform complex orchestral scores from video games and films into powerful, technically demanding, yet deeply emotional solo piano performances.
