THEATRE – Pascal Rambert The Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc presents “Theatre”, a unique original project by one of the most important contemporary French playwrights and theatre directors, Pascal Rambert. The play was created specifically for the Rijeka theatre ensemble – a text written “to measure” for the actors of the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc. During the creative process, Rambert met individually with each actor, drawing inspiration from their voices, energy, bodies, and personal artistic journeys to create a large theatrical fiction about life within an ensemble. The story takes place after a rehearsal of “The Bridge on the Drina” by Ivo Andrić, when the ensemble gathers to celebrate the birthday of two actresses. From this encounter emerges an intimate story about the love for theatre and the everyday life of actors – their doubts, hopes, friendships, and relationships formed within the ensemble. “Theatre” explores the beauty and challenges of the acting profession, as well as the deeper connection between life and art.
