During this special evening, he will present his thirteenth book, “In the Heart of the Wild”, his first travel memoir, describing his extraordinary journey along one of the world’s most famous long-distance hiking trails – the Pacific Crest Trail, stretching 4,482 kilometres from Mexico to Canada. Through 135 days on the trail, Šimleša shares stories of deserts in Southern California, the Sierra Nevada mountains, fire-affected landscapes, and the wild regions of the American Northwest. He explores extreme weather conditions, being separated from family, encounters with wildlife, and the personal transformations that come with such a demanding adventure.
