🎬 RIP MTV 📺 Friday, 10.07. @ Klub Palach, from 21:00 💸 Free entry! “Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll!” With those words on August 1st, 1981, MTV aired its very first music video, Video Killed the Radio Star, and forever changed the way we experience music. Music videos became an art form, artists became icons, and MTV became a symbol of an entire generation. From Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Prince, through Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, and the Spice Girls, all the way to Eminem, Beyoncé, and Linkin Park — MTV was a window into the world of music, style, and pop culture. But times change. YouTube, streaming platforms, and social media took over, and the MTV we once knew gradually faded away. Tonight we remember MTV and dance through the golden era of music videos: the 80s, 90s, and 00s classics that shaped generations. From pop and rock to hip-hop and alternative — all the music we watched and listened to late into the night. RIP MTV ❤️
