The play “Theatre” is a unique original project by French playwright and director Pascal Rambert, who wrote the text specifically for the members of the ensemble of the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka – a work created “to measure” for the ensemble. During the creative process, Rambert met each actress and actor individually. Their energy, voices, bodies, and personal artistic journeys inspired him to create a large theatrical fiction in which the ensemble gathers after a rehearsal of Ivo Andrić’s “The Bridge on the Drina” to celebrate the birthday of two actresses from the company. From this encounter emerges “Theatre” – a play about the love of theatre and the everyday life of actors: about doubts, hopes, friendships, and relationships formed within an ensemble. Rambert also explores the weight and beauty of the acting profession, as well as the broader relationship between life and art. “Theatre” is both an intimate story of togetherness and a reflection on art that shapes the lives of those who create it, and on life that continuously flows into theatre. Pascal Rambert (b. 1962) is one of the most important contemporary French playwrights and theatre directors. He is the author of numerous award-winning plays performed across Europe and around the world. He gained international recognition with works such as Clôture de l’amour (The End of Love), Répétition, Actrice, and Architecture, staged in leading European theatres. 🎟️ Tickets:…
