Alongside historical and architectural context (each urban complex was developed in a different historical and socio-cultural period), the tour also discusses the possibilities and lived experience of life in today’s city centre of Rijeka, as well as in cities more broadly. Marko Smoljan is a history and art history teacher, tourist guide and tour leader. His main interests include cultural history and architectural history. Alongside a sensitivity to urban and broader landscapes, he also engages with the practical realities of urban environments on the ground.
