Soft Dictionary Workshop of collective writing, embroidery and connection Location: Courtyard of Gradska knjižnica Rijeka Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM Organiser: Gradska knjižnica Rijeka Facilitator: Tanja Blašković Audience: All ages Admission: Free entry We invite you to an evening of gathering and co-creating an art installation titled “Soft Dictionary.” During the workshop, participants will write words, messages, small thoughts and expressions in different languages onto textile strips. Using markers, thread and embroidery, we will connect languages, handwriting styles and diverse experiences into a shared living dictionary. The strips will then be tied and hung in the space, forming an installation made of words and messages. The work will remain in the neighbourhood as a trace of gathering, conversation and new encounters. “Soft Dictionary” emerges as a space of connection between new residents and locals through language, textile, social interaction and collaborative artistic process. No embroidery, drawing or cursive writing skills are required — only a word you wish to share. Participation is free and open to all generations and languages.
