Summer Sensory Path A barefoot workshop for all the senses Location: Children’s House (Dječja kuća) Date and time: Tuesday, July 7, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Organizer: Rijeka City Library Facilitator: Andrea Kalanj, Rainbow Roots Age group: 1–2.5 years Registration: Applications will be available on the Children’s House website from June 29. For our youngest explorers and their little bare feet, we have prepared a sensory path and a short story, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.” We can’t go under it, we can’t go around it – we’ll have to go right through the whole path! From twigs and pebbles, through leaves and mud, all the way to the little pools waiting at the end. A fun open-ended sensory workshop awaits us, where the outcome is not what matters most, but rather the process and the joy of experiencing it. Free play, curious exploration, experimentation, and trying out different techniques and textures are some of the best ways for children to learn and develop their senses. The combination of various materials and textures creates a rich environment for learning through play. The aim of the workshop is to encourage sensory exploration, improve coordination, and support the development of motor skills and tactile perception.
