Summer Comic Adventure Multi-day comic creation and drawing workshop Location: Children’s House (Dječja kuća) Dates and Time: Monday, July 6 – Friday, July 10, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM Organizer: Rijeka City Library Instructor: Bruno Dorkić Age Group: Children 8+ Registration: Applications will be available on the Children’s House website starting June 29. This workshop runs over five consecutive days from July 6 to July 10, and attendance at all sessions is required. This five-day comic workshop invites children to imagine, design, and draw their own comic story based on a fun and exciting theme. It is open to all children who are interested in comics—whether they have already tried making them or want to explore storytelling through visual art for the first time. And the theme is… you’ll have to come to the workshop to find out! Many may not know this, but the Children’s Department “Stribor” at Rijeka City Library is home to the largest publicly accessible comic book collection available for borrowing in Rijeka. All of this makes for the perfect setting for a true comic-making adventure, where new young masters of panel storytelling are discovered. Through conversation, drawing, and storytelling, participants will learn the basics of this wonderful art form while enjoying the company of other comic enthusiasts.
